We help seniors maintain a higher quality of life and provide respite and peace of mind for a family caregiver who may need some support. We are locally owned in Chicago, Illinois and have clients in both the city and suburbs. Our Companions help stimulate our clients physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. All of our Companions are trained, bonded, and insured.
Sam Tatel
President
Sam Tatel founded Companions for Seniors, Inc. in 2004. He was working for the Council for Jewish Elderly at the time and saw a great need for non-medical in-home care in the elderly Jewish community of Chicago. Sam is passionate about providing quality care to seniors. He has volunteered for JUF organizations in the Chicagoland area for nearly all of his 37 years. His enthusiasm and charisma help create a fun working environment for our employees and a complete, dignified support system for our clients.
Rebecca Tatel
General Manager
Rebecca brings a unique perspective to the position of General Manager. While the majority of her work experience has been in the field of education, it has provided her with extensive experience in management, organization, and working with a variety of peoples. Throughout the years Rebecca has worked on many part-time projects for Companions for Seniors, and was one of the company’s first caregivers.
Louis Carr
Vice President, Human Resources
Louis has several years of experience working in Health Care and more specifically with the elderly. His past work experience includes time in psychiatric rehabilitation services and as a Social Services Case Manager. His years of experience in Social Services brings an ability to understand the needs of clients, and create comprehensive and completely personal plans of care for you or your loved one.
Joshua Gutstein
Director of Business Development
Drawing on his experience as a business owner and corporate attorney, Joshua brings an analytical approach to his role as Director of Business Development for Companions for Seniors, Inc. Prior to joining Companions for Seniors, Joshua invented and marketed the Stayclip®, a collar stay organizer with selection of collar stays. As president of the BG & Sons, LLC, distributor of the Stayclip, Joshua developed a marketing and sales strategy to generate revenues that resulted in sales that doubled yearly.
Leah Gritton
Marketing Consultant
Leah Gritton comes to us from the advertising world. She worked as the Strategy Officer at world-class agencies such as Y&R Chicago, 72andSunny, and BBDO. Throughout her carreer Leah has played strategic lead and successfully driven business growth on significant brands.
